Mara Farris began studying dance at age three at Barbara Ann School of Dance in Lexington, Kentucky. For 15 years she trained in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, and contemporary dance and engaged in the competitive dance company for 10 years. Mara continued her dance education at Western Kentucky University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a minor in Performing Arts Administration. While at Western, she was a member of the WKU Dance Company and had the opportunity to perform in Istanbul, Turkey and Civitavecchia & Tolfa, Italy. Mara was accepted into the Master of Fine Arts Program at Oklahoma City University. After one semester she decided to pursue a career as a professional dancer. She has taught at the Community Dance Center in Oklahoma City, OK, taught and judged for Dance Masters of Oklahoma, and is currently teaching at Town & Village School of Dance in Paris, KY.
